GROOMING POLICIES
Dematting Fee (25$) - This is applied when a dog is severely matted and needs to be preshaved before a bath. We do this because we cannot cut wet hair. Matted hair can take hours (sometimes days) to dry. We preshave to get the bulk off then bathe, then we are able to do the groom. When we do this it is like doing two grooms. This also maybe charged if you ask us to dematt ears/tails that are severely matted and take an excessive amount of time. Please be aware, excessive matting may cause skin irritation, hematomas or discomfort due to limited blood flow as a result of the matting.
External Parasites Fee (25$-50$) - Dogs found to have fleas, ticks, or other external parasites will be assessed a fee of $25–$50 per dog, depending on the severity. This fee covers the additional time required to remove parasites and thoroughly sanitize our equipment and facility to protect all pets in our care.
Special Handling Fee (25$) - This is applied when the dog is on medication, when a dog is on medication to be groomed we take extra precautions to ensure their safety. This is also applied if your dog bites or takes more than one person to safely groom.
Express/Emergency Fee (25$) - This is applied when you require your dog to be out by noon or before. This is also applied when we take your dog in last minute or due to an emergency (bad home haircut, forgot to make appointment before holidays, or just got in the mud!)
In Season/Pregnancy Fee (25$) - If your dog is in season or pregnant we will groom her however due to extreme cautions that are necessary this fee is applied. If your dog is boarding and in heat there will be an additional 25$ per day charge.
No Show/Cancellation Policy (3 Strike Policy) - Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice and all no-shows will count as one (1) strike. After three (3) strikes, clients will be required to prepay in full for all future appointments.
All prepaid appointments are non-transferable to a different day and non-refundable.
Late Pickup Fee (50$) - High Standards Grooming is open Tuesday-Friday 8am-6pm. We require all dogs picked up no later than 6pm. Pickup later than 6pm will result in a late pickup/boarding fee.
Invoice and Payment Policies
Payment is due at time of service. We happily accept all cash, debit/credit cards, and cashapp
Requests for refunds for products or services rendered will be evaluated on a case by case basis by company management and, if approved, be provided to customers via the same initial payment method.
Invoices will receive a 50 dollar late fee after the first 24 hours and an additional 50/weekly. Reoccurring late payments will result in no longer being able to be invoiced. Invoices left outstanding for extended periods will result in being dismissed as a client. If invoices are left unpaid for 30 days, it will be considered theft of services and treated as such.
Additional Information and Procedures
All dogs are in a daycare environment and are around other dogs. All of our staff is trained in dog behavior and trained to identify any issues that may arise. We do have gates and an area for small dogs as well as a dividing gate to help separate the more playful dogs from the more docile ones!
All dogs at High Standards Grooming and Boarding are vaccinated and healthy, but that there are viruses (e.g., colds, Bordetella, Conjunctivitis and Papilloma Virus) that cannot be fully vaccinated against and that in a social setting such as day care, dog may be exposed to such.
Boarding, interactive daycare, and grooming may cause stress to dog(s). This could lead to stress induced diarrhea/vomiting, commonly known as “stress colitis”. High Standards Grooming and Boarding is not liable for this occurrence.
At High Standards Grooming & Boarding, your dog's safety is always our top priority. Our groomers are trained to use safe handling techniques and will never rush or force a dog through the grooming process. However, we ask that pet owners do their part by maintaining a regular grooming schedule, as this greatly improves both safety and the overall quality of the
groom.
While we take every reasonable precaution to prevent injuries, High Standards Grooming & Boarding cannot be held responsible for injuries or grooming imperfections that occur as a result of a dog's behavior, sudden movements, or inability to safely cooperate during the grooming process. If we feel that continuing a groom would compromise your dog's safety or well-being, we reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service.
If your dog requires medical attention while in the care of High Standards Grooming and Boarding, you agree to allow High Standards Grooming and Boarding staff to transport your dog to the veterinarian and be solely responsible for the payment of all medical bills for your dog and you release High Standards Grooming and Boarding, its officers and employees from any and all responsibility for, or claims, damages, debts, resulting from such medical care, including but not limited to, transportation to/from the veterinarian clinic and choice of veterinarian or animal hospital.
Dogs that are left in our care over 30 days with no payment are subject to owner surrender
By utilizing our services or conducting business with us, you explicitly agree to be bound by all terms and conditions outlined here on our website.
1. General Care & Feeding
Owner understands that dogs may experience stress while boarding, which can result in decreased appetite or mild digestive changes. The Facility will make reasonable efforts to encourage eating but is not responsible for these normal adjustments.
2. Health & Veterinary Care Authorization
Owner certifies their dog(s) are in good health and free of contagious illness. In the event of illness, injury, or concern, the Facility is authorized to seek veterinary care as deemed necessary. Owner agrees to be fully responsible for all related expenses. If Owner cannot be reached, the Facility may approve treatment in the pet's best interest.
3. Emergency Contact
Owner must provide a valid emergency contact authorized to make decisions if Owner is unreachable.
4. Transportation Authorization
Owner authorizes the Facility to transport their dog(s) for medical care or emergencies as needed.
5. Risk Acknowledgment
Owner understands that boarding involves inherent risks, including but not limited to stress, illness, injury, or escape. The Facility will take reasonable precautions but is not liable for incidents not caused by gross negligence.
6. Behavioral Disclosure
Owner agrees to disclose any behavioral issues, including aggression, anxiety, escape tendencies, or other behaviors that could affect the safety of their pet, other pets, or staff. Failure to disclose known behavioral issues may result in the immediate termination of services without refund.
7. Personal Belongings
Items left with pets (beds, toys, blankets, leashes, etc.) are left at the Owner's risk. The Facility is not responsible for loss, damage, or destruction of personal belongings. Any items not picked up within 30 days will be considered abandoned and may be donated or disposed of at the Facility's discretion.
8. Vaccinations
Owner confirms that all required vaccinations are current and may be verified prior to boarding. The Facility reserves the right to refuse admission if vaccination requirements are not met.
9. Pickup & Drop-Off Policy
To ensure the safety of all pets and the efficient operation of the Facility, all pickups and drop-offs must occur during the Facility's scheduled hours unless prior arrangements have been approved.
Regular Pickup & Drop-Off Hours:
Tuesday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday, Sunday & Monday: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Owners are expected to arrive at their scheduled pickup time. If an Owner anticipates being late, they should notify the Facility as soon as possible.
Late Pickup Fees:
A $25 late pickup fee will be charged for pickups occurring 5 minutes to 1 hour after the scheduled pickup time. A $50 late pickup fee will be charged for pickups occurring more than 1 hour after the scheduled pickup time or outside of the Facility's normal pickup hours. Late pickup fees are in addition to all boarding charges and must be paid before the pet is released.
If a late pickup is scheduled and the Owner does not arrive at the agreed-upon time, the applicable late fee will still be charged.
Holiday Policy:
The Facility is closed for pickups and drop-offs on all holidays. Holiday pickups or drop-offs may be accommodated only at the Facility's sole discretion and must be arranged in advance. If approved, a $100 Holiday Pickup/Drop-Off Fee will apply for each holiday service and must be paid before the pet is released. If a holiday pickup or drop-off is scheduled and the Owner does not arrive at the agreed-upon time, the holiday fee will still apply. Failure to pick up a pet as scheduled may result in additional boarding charges for each additional day the pet remains at the Facility.
10. Abandonment
If a pet is not picked up within 10 days of the scheduled departure date and no contact is made, the pet will be considered abandoned. The Facility may take appropriate action in accordance with applicable local laws. The Owner remains responsible for all boarding fees and other charges incurred until the pet is released or otherwise legally disposed of.
11. Payment Responsibility
All boarding fees, late fees, holiday fees, veterinary expenses, and any additional charges incurred during the pet's stay must be paid in full prior to pick-up.
